From the start to finish, the staff at Classic were professional and helpful in making our daughter's wedding perfect in every way. They encouraged tastings of our menu selections which enabled us to pick the perfect menu within our budget. We personally recommend Lynn Piette, who was meticulously organized and helped coordinate the event and the vendors to make this a dream wedding.

When I started looking for a caterer I knew it would be my most important decision. As a Chef and an Event Planner I knew I wanted someone who would be willing to work with my ideas and let me "run the show" creatively. Every other caterer in Baltimore balked at the idea, but Classic set up a beautiful meeting with one of the Exec. Chefs and we designed the entire menu, start-to-finish. The food was EXCEPTIONAL and exactly what I had imagined. It looked beautiful, it was served hot and cooked perfectly, and the vegetarian option was just as good. Classic also helped complete my event by taking care of many of our rentals, like chairs and glassware. Their staff is very professional and very good at what they do. They are THE ONLY caterer in Baltimore I would recommend.

This is certainly a long overdue review… My husband and I were married in September, 2011, and held our reception at the Evergreen Carriage House in Baltimore (part of the JHU Museums and Library). The venue gave us six catering options from which to choose, and we narrowed our selection down to three prior to making any appointments. Lynn Piette of The Classic Catering People was the first caterer with whom we met. Instantly, my husband and I felt as though we connected with her. She not only listened to our ideas (in addition to sharing her own), but had a complete understanding of the layout of our reception venue. Prior to us even hiring Classic Catering, she contacted The Evergreen to ensure that we’d have access to the back stall area at our reception (as originally we were told by The Evergreen that we would not). Though we met with two additional caterers just to cover our bases, we ultimately went with our first instinct. My husband and I did not hire an event planner; however, we felt that Lynn served not only as our caterer, but as our wedding coordinator. I don’t know what we would have done without her!! She helped us every step of the way, was always very prompt to answer our emails/return phone calls, very willingly integrated our ideas into planning our reception, and was not hesitant to offer her own very helpful suggestions. Moreover, the food that was served at both our cocktail hour and reception received amazing reviews; we had guests tell us that they had never tasted such amazing salmon (and these were guests from the Pacific coast!), and we were told that the beef was among some of the best that they had ever eaten. We had 170 guests, in total, and months later are still hearing about what an incredible reception we had. Bottom line: if you are considering having your reception at the Evergreen, and/or are considering hiring Classic Catering for your reception, you will be THRILLED with your decision. Exquisite! Every detail was handled professionally, elegantly and beautifully! We got married in our front yard and held our reception on our wrap around porch. From the assitance with the layout of the venue and the rentals to the fabulous menu, both passed by professional staff and served sit down, we could not have been more pleased. The entire experience - first phone call to clean up after made my day and my guest's day truly a fairy tale expereince. My guests are still raving about food and the staff! regardless of the event - in the future - i will never call anyone else....

I was married the weekend of Hurricane Irene on the waterfront in Baltimore, MD. We worked with Alan Pressman from Classic Catering, who not only coordinated our rehearsal for us (we had a friend officiate the wedding), but helped us push back the wedding by 3 hours when our venue informed us that we'd have to be out of the venue by 8 p.m. (instead of midnight) with only 12 hours notice. Food is fantastic and the service was top notch. They set up everything for us, allowing us to really enjoy our wedding day and not sweat the details (or the Hurricane!).

We got married at the George Peabody Library in August and we felt that our wedding was just perfect! I planned the wedding from out of town and could not have done it so seamlessly without the help of Lynn Piette. She assisted me every step of the way from choosing the right vendors, linens, and menu. The end result was beautiful. More importantly, the day of, everything went off without a hitch. My husband and I barely had to think and we just got to enjoy ourselves, in large part due to Lynn acting as an event planner. The food was delicious and service was impeccable. Our server always had a fresh glass of champagne for me and offered to keep our food warm when we stepped away from our table during dinner. I highly recommend Lynn and The Classic Catering People.

We just had our wedding at the George Peabody Library this past June. As many couples know the Peabody Library requires couples to choose between the Classic Catering People and Chef’s Expressions for their catering options. Both companies gave a great presentation, but Classic Catering had the edge with Lynn Piette. Lynn acted as a wedding coordinator during the whole process, and made sure that every detail of our wedding reception was beautifully planned. She found the perfect linens, drew up a fantastic floor plan, and she worked with the other vendors to ensure our planning was a seamless process. Classic helped us every step of the way even for other services such as finding a great hotel room block or suggesting parking arrangements for our guests. We knew that we chose the correct catering company on the day of our wedding. Their staff executed ever aspect of our wedding perfectly and Lynn made sure the reception was a seamless event. The appetizers, cocktail hour, and dinner were amazing. Every staff member addressed us by name and made us feel like royalty. I would be remiss in not thanking Jackie Shugarman, who personally waited on our table during the reception. Classic even ensured that we had our time to sit and eat dinner uninterrupted during the reception – something many other catering companies do not do. Our guests are still raving our wedding and a large portion of that was due to the efforts of Classic Catering. Choose Classic with confidence. You won’t regret the decision.

We had our wedding at the Peabody Library in June. We planned our wedding from Chicago and really couldn't have done it without Classic and Lynn Piette! Lynn was so helpful throughout the process and really made it simple to plan from far away. Not only did she help us with fantastic food and linens, she also helped us find a valet service, lighting and a DJ! The food was amazing and exceeded our expectations for what you could serve to a large group. We had 6 appetizers for people to choose from and a choice of a stuffed chicken or a rockfish with a delicious sauce for dinner. Everything was hot and perfectly cooked and the wait staff was wonderful. We also had Classic do our cake, which they made to match a picture that I had seen in a magazine - perfect match and really tasty!! Classic really handles everything. We didn't realize it, but our wedding day was the same day as the pride parade, so the roads were blocked leading to the library. Lynn and her team worked miracles and worked with the police to get everyone there safe. If you want to be able to trust that everything is going to go wonderfully on your wedding day, choose Classic and specifically Lynn.

I was so happy with my choice of Classic Catering for my wedding and reception for so many reasons. Firstly, working with Lynn Piette was such a pleasure and so easy. Her organizational skills, friendliness and exceptional service were such great qualities to having in the planning process. After we had decided to use CCP, she was always responsive to all my emails and phone calls. She assured me every step of the way and was always enjoyable to talk to. Secondly, during each meeting at CCP, they provided us with such great food!!! From the initial meeting to the tastings, I was always happy with the food choices and the selection. Lastly, I am grateful for how much that they care about their brides. When the worse possible thing happened ( a death in the family 3 days before my original wedding date) that postponed our wedding, Lynn and the people at Classic were so wonderful in helping me re-schedule the wedding. They went above and beyond what they needed to do. I am so grateful for that!! On my actual wedding day, I knew I had nothing to worry about. I had the most fantastic time and the most delicious food at the wedding. The staff made sure that I was well fed and had a great time. Lynn kept everything on schedule. The staff were all professional and courteous. All of my guests were so impressed with how smoothly everything went and the how delicious the food was.

Words cannot express my satisfaction with the Classic Catering People and Lynn Piette. Our wedding night was incredible at the Peabody Library. Lynn helped with everything from linens, finding a florist, DJ, and even an officiant. You name it, they can help. The food was amazing, the filet and salmon were just as delicious and hot on wedding day as at the tasting. The wait staff was excellent and attentive and so were the bartenders. (as a bride you are sometimes a little too busy to enjoy your full meal. I was even offered a new meal because mine had gotten cold while I was talking to guests. That's how attentive they are) Even a few surprises were thrown in with extra orchid details on the bar to ribbons that matched the color scheme on the place card table. I just sat back and them take care of everything, I really trusted their ideas and expertise. My friends and family are still raving about the wedding. I highly recommend using the Classic Catering People, you will be extremely pleased.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Classisc Catering. They catered my vegan and gluten free wedding for 120 people and EVERYONE raved about the food. Lynn and Bobby couldn't have been more helpful, insightful and claming throughout the whole planning process. Thank you so much!

Where to start? 1.Kelly Girard is my Hero. As my event manager/contact, she made everything so effortless and easy, was clear in her communication, and I never once had a problem getting in touch with her. She was my right hand-woman! It was like having a wedding coordinator for free. 2. No dry chicken here. Steak. and it was gooooood. 3. I had a strict vegan arrive, and I didn't pick out any vegan meals. No problem! Not only were the sweet potato apps delicious, I got complements on them! 4. I do not know who tended the bar that night. Neither does any of my family or bridal party. We never had to go there for more beverages. 5. Someone crashed my wedding. Seriously. I have no idea who they were. Not a problem - they got steak, too. 6. So I underestimated the popularity of my white wine. Apparently it got refilled by the bartender I never had to see. No one noticed. 7. Not a finger was lifted to clear any plate, dish, or glass while the party was still raging. Sure, Classic isn't the cheapest out there, but with this company you certainly get what you pay for.

After talking with a WONDERFUL Larry Frank things have taken a turn for the best! - Classic catering will go above and beyond to right any wrongs and to make sure that no wrongs will happen in the first place.... The food is excellent and the staff is very accomidating, polite and friendly, I am looking forward to having Classic cater my graduation party in May to prove how wonderful they can be. Classic catering is cleary client centric and as a bride you will need that on your special day! - ** hint to all brides: don't forget to eat on your wedding day, if you use classic the food is restuarant quaility and you will want to know why all of your guest are raving about it*** -> Our wedding was in October & it is almost May and we are still getting compliments on how good the food was. So to all my fellow foodies (who live to eat, like me) classic catering is the way to go! :) - Finally a special shout out to Larry Frank again for being so wonderful, understanding, kind, and a great advocate for what I knew was THE BEST cateringcompany in Maryland.

I would highly recommend Classic Catering for wedding catering. We found them through the list of required caterers at our reception venue (Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center at the University of Maryland). We were sold on Classic as soon as we had our tasting. We put a lot of importance on our food, among other things, for where our wedding budget would be spent, and Classic delivered. We considered going with a smaller, cheaper, and lower quality caterer to save money, but I am so happy that we did not cut corners on catering! Kelly Girard was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant and fun to work with. Due to a personal obligation, she was not able to be our day of coordinator, so she arranged that I meet with Jackie Shugarman before the wedding, and the entire process was absolutely seamless. Jackie was a great coordinator as well! And this is a great benefit of going with a catering company of considerable size - we had complete confidence that Classic would deliver quality food and service the day of our wedding. Classic was very flexible on our menu - we aren't 'foodies,' and didn't want overly gourmet food for our wedding (I hate when you can't identify the food being passed around at cocktail hour). They were very accommodating of our tastes and helped us create a menu that we absolutely loved. They didn't even flinch when we asked to have franks-in-jackets at cocktail hour! Also delicious - crab and corn fritters and the amazing Vidalia onion turnovers. And when they say jumbo lump crabcake, they actually mean lump crab meat. We got a lot of compliments on the food from our guests, which made us very happy. The service was very quick during dinner service, and all the staff were very professional, including the bartenders. I could not have asked for better service from a caterer! We would definitely use Classic Catering again!

Lynn Piette was AMAZING! She showed true professionalism from our first meeting through to the reception. She guided us through the choosing of the menu (which our guests raved about!) and she gave us complete peace of mind the evening of our daughter's reception. The waitstaff was extremely competent and courteous. Our guests commented to us about the quality of service that they received. The bartenders were great- personable and very accomodating. The table linens that Lynn helped us choose were stunning. Lynn also coordinated with our DJ, cake vendor and photographer and made sure that all parties knew what was going on. Wow, Wow, Wow! Classic Catering People catered our amazing wedding a few weeks ago in downtown Baltimore at the Museum of Industry. For full disclosure we are related to the owners; however, we think our 200 independent guests would agree the venue looked awesome and the food was downright delicious and plentiful. Classic's servers did a great job. We still can’t believe how beautiful the tented Chuppah was with the Inner Harbor behind us as we said our vows. Unlike most couples, the groom and I left total delegation to the Classic team as we never sampled a morsel beforehand or picked a linen etc. prior to the event. Frankly we suggest more couples let go of the process. We seriously left all the details to the pros given our busy work schedules. Okay we should get some credit. We did pick two amazing music groups that helped create the mood for the service and the reception: The Montibello Strings and the Source. As for the food, we do not know where to begin. It was clear the Classic Team carefully selected items that would compliment the casual style wedding we were looking for yet still have a handful of “SUPER-“WOW” items. Especially popular were the mouth-watering miso-glazed sea scallops (the bride’s favorite), the meaty lobster rolls, and the fantastic raw bar section which was accompanied by an array of cool interesting sauces to dip your oysters in. Of course there was plenty for the carnivores to eat such as lamb chops with rhubarb barbecue sauce and grilled chicken breasts on a bed of lentils. Our guests are still raving about the multi-item dessert bar including a gelato table that complimented the 90 degree day quite well. Some of our other special treats were the individual fresh peach and banana cream pies as well as a blueberry pudding cake. Also devoured was our wedding cake – none other than the sinfully decadent Pimlico Cake (if you don’t know what this is – you are missing out on life! Trust us on this one).

It is with great pleasure to recommend Lynn Piette at The Classic Catering People for any social event. We experienced superior service from the first consultation through post-wedding communications. The wedding expertise, knowledge and culinary service far exceeded our expectations. We feel that Lynn's creativity, ingenuity and purpose for perfection played a major role in delivering the elegant and joyful wedding event we imagined. As the weeks started leading up to the wedding, just knowing that our phone calls and e-mails would be returned in a timely manner eased our worries. Lynn was our "go-to" for everything, not just the catering. She knew how the flowers were to be arranged, she had an answer for any etiquette question and she knew the right thing to say at the right time for a nervous bride afraid of tripping over her dress. After our menu tasting months before the wedding, we had made a few suggestions to improve our dinner options. Classic made a few recommendations to our ideas and created an outstanding menu that even left our pickiest eaters pleased. Lynn and The Classic Catering People are more than caterers', for they provided much more than our dollars could match. They helped ensure that our wedding was an unforgettable one. When planning our next event, Lynn and Classic will be our first choice.

Classic Catering made our wedding a complete success. Almost every guest approached us after the wedding to tell us how the food was the best they ever experienced at a wedding. From the hor d'oeuvres to the salad to the dinner and dessert collection, everything was perfection. Bobby Pressman was our direct contact and he was more than accommodating, always willing to try new ideas and think outside of the box if we were interested in something that wasn't on the original menu. They are expensive, but worth every penny.
