We had a bit of an unconventional wedding. We chose to have it on a Wednesday and just had a 2 hour reception with light appetizers and cake. Despite the fact that it was untraditional the event planner and staff were so accommodating to make everything just how we wanted it. We had our ceremony and reception in the conservatory and it was gorgeous. The food presentation was so so beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. The quality was very high. I've attended weddings at other venues that I know came with a steeper price tag and their food was nearly as attractive or tasty as that which we had at the Elk Forge Inn. We are so thankful that we found a picturesque venue with wonderful food and such a friendly staff that was also affordable.

Wow! What a fantastic place to have a wedding! Oh yeah and we did it through hurricane Irene! It was a weekend long event, myself and my favorite ladies stayed there the night before so we would have plenty of time to set up my diy centerpieces and other goodies. They only do one event per weekend so no competing for the space. Almost everything was done by the lovely owners and their staff, decorating, coordinating, food and service all inclusive. The grounds are gorgeous and the historic house that they transformed into a bed and breakfast was very accommodating and everyone raved about it. As the wind blew and the rain poured they all ran around doing what needed to be done without complaining and with fabulous results. Our entire group was shuttled from the main house to the reception area by the owners son Andrew (a very sweet and friendly guy). One of the owners other sons (Seth) ran and got me the flowers from another room while I was hiding from my groom! Marlene the coordinator even went and grabbed myself and my MOH a beer before the ceremony to calm our nerves. The food which was lovingly prepared by Leann (the owner) and turned out great, and I heard a lot of positive comments about the meal. We rented the entire place (14 rooms total) so we were able to all stay the night there. I highly recommend booking the entire grounds for your event, seriously if you have to cut some other high ticket items to make it happen you really should. It was all so very personal and obvious that they really cared about our special day. Even after the power was knocked out the staff went and got flashlights, candles and an acoustic guitar! Fortunately my loving uncles and cousins are musically gifted and continued the party. We all sang and danced in the candle light! Absolutely top notch and nearly effortless! Thank you all so much for your effort! Now we have a place to go back to for years to come and celebrate anniversaries! Perfect 10!

We were married in Washington, DC and scheduled our wedding reception at the Elk Forge Inn B&B. It was a lovely night - the innkeepers went out of their way to make us and our guests feel very special. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married or have a reception there!!

This was the ideal location for our intimate wedding reception. The inn keepers went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Their attention to even the smallest details made the biggest difference. I recommend this place to everyone I know!
